Azerbaijan's tourism potential is being promoted at the FITUR tourism exhibition in Madrid, Spain. Organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board in collaboration with four local partners, the event serves as a key platform for introducing Azerbaijan’s diverse travel experiences to the international market.
Recognized as one of the most prestigious tourism exhibitions in Spanish-speaking countries, FITUR hosts B2B (Business-to-Business) meetings with tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, and promotional companies from various European and Latin American countries.
During the meetings, extensive information is provided on Azerbaijan’s tourism opportunities, including national cuisine, winemaking, golf, winter tourism, and mountain ski resorts. Special emphasis is given to the The Cultural Landscape of Khinalig People and “Köç Yolu” Transhumance Route , which was recently included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as Azerbaijan’s growing business tourism sector.
A key focus of the exhibition is Azerbaijan’s role as the host of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29)—one of the world’s largest and most significant intergovernmental events.
Azerbaijan’s national stand was also visited by the country’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra, as well as Permanent Representative to the UN Tourism, Ramiz Hasanov.
More than 9,000 companies from 152 countries are participating in the exhibition, which will continue until January 28, with an expected attendance of over 150,000 visitors.
